Top Ten
Recently I was tagged by Hopelessly Devoted to Makeup with the Top Ten Tag. (Thanks!) So today, I'm doing a modified version of the tag, where I'll list my top ten beauty products.
My 10 favorite beauty products:
1. NARS eyeshadow duo in Dogon
2. NARS blush in Orgasm
3. Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in Bare Pink
4. Philosophy Purity face cleanser
5. NARS illuminator in Orgasm
6. Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara
7. Burt's Bees Original Lip Balm
8. NARS eyeshadow single in Coconut Grove
9. Bobbi Brown eyeshadow brush
10. Bobbi Brown face blender brush
As you can see, I'm pretty inside (i.e. not outside) the box when it comes to brands. When I find something good, I stick with it! Mr. Lovey oft points out the fact that I order the same dishes over and over again when we go to restaurants. Fortunately he's more adventurous and that's how I find new favorites. It's not that I'm a picky eater, or don't dabble in other brands; I just don't want to be disappointed! Does this sounds like you? Or are you the type that would roll your eyes at this risk-adverse behavior?
Thanks again to Hopelessly Devoted to Makeup for the nomination! She's a prolific blogger with beautiful pictures of high end products, including Le Metier, Armani, Edward Bess, and more =). Although I'm not passing on the Top Ten chain, you can find my favorite blogs listed in my sidebar, 24-7!
Love, Dovey.

very nice tag Nars O products and Dogon are great choices! i will have to look into your other favorites because if they are part of ur top 10 they have to be great! the BB face blender blush looks so soft!!
ReplyDeleteI love the twist you put on the award! I spot a favorite on mine on there too (gotta love Burt's Bees)!
ReplyDeleteLol! I've got 5 out of your 10!
ReplyDeleteI love posts like these. It lets me snoop into everyone's makeup goodies. Some of your favs are mine, as well. And, no, I do not think you are risk-averse. You just like what you like. Years ago, I used to be brand loyal to one brand! (Mostly)
ReplyDeleteI love the post and the products you picked! I have a running theme on mine as well...come to think of it HDTM had a lot of Le metier!
ReplyDeleteHow do you use Coconut Grove? I've been pondering the shadow for ages but I'm not sure if I would only use it for eyeliner or whether it's useable as an everyday shadow ...

Lilladylife- thanks! The blender brush is really really soft. It's really a multipurpose brush (I actually have two...)
ReplyDeleteHDTM - yup, gotta have the lip balm.
Jamilla - great minds think alike =P
Zuzu's petals - me too! Favorites are my favorite too. They remind me of magazine articles, dont you think?
Productdoctor - good point; I guess we all have things we keep going back to!
Jessica- good question. I'm not sure why I haven't posted on it yet! I use Coconut grove in the following ways:
1) to fill in my brows
2) smudgy liner
3) to deepen or smoke-ify any eye look.
I have other dark brown shadows, but I really like the texture and pigmentation of CG; it's pigmented, yet easy to blend. It's a rich brown, yet cool enough for my liking. Blending it with darker cooler blues or greys is something I like to do for an interesting effect
Oooh I like the thought of blending Coconut Grove to create your own duo-chrome esque effect. I'd love it if you'd eventually do a post on the shade ... it might help me make up my darn mind!

I need to put a Top Ten list together of my own - it also makes up for my lack of makeup purchasing in attempt to pay off some major debt!
ReplyDeleteI love your top 10 list :) These products are high quality and always great :D
