CHARITY
Cute and Mundane is a beauty blog. However, as many beauty bloggers would agree, there are charitable causes that make us feel beautiful on the inside as well. In this section, I will mention issues that are near and dear to my heart: pet adoption and animal cruelty. Baby Bird (above), who appears on Cute and Mundane from time to time, was a shelter dog. I try to donate money to animal rescues every year, however I thought I could also spread a little awareness through my blog. Thank you for taking the time to read my short blurb below:
Please consider adopting over buying pets! A large number of pets in pet-shops come from "puppy mills" and so-called breeders which have situations that are horrific and cruel. As you can imagine, many people who sell pets care more about profit than human treatment of animals. By adopting, we can make sure these people do not profit from their inhumane treatment of animals.
Secondly, something you may not know is that not all animals in shelters are lucky enough to find homes. In fact, 3-4 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year, because there is not enough room in shelters. By adopting, you are literally stopping the clock, and saving a life. Petfinder.com is an amazing website that helps people like us find the our furry (or not furry) companion of our dreams. You can search by your zipcode, type of animal, age, size, breed, and so many other factors!
Thanks for reading!
Love, Dovey.
