What's in my makeup pouch?

Lately my makeup pouch has become more practical. While I do add in the day's lipstick color, most of what's inside is for emergency or non-color touch-up purposes. Here's a look at what's in my pouch as of late.

I'll start with the makeup! I keep mini-sized Make Up For Ever black eyeliner and Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked. They're both small but quality products that are perfect for a pouch. Pouches are such great places to keep the mini you just don't end up using otherwise. I also keep Revlon PhotoReady 3-D Volume Mascara* there because I'm not fond of it, but it's better than nothing on the rare days I run out without mascara on. NARS Concealer in Custard is always there in case I need to touch up a blemish. NARS Belle de Jour is practically a permanent resident considering how often it's in my pouch. The sheer nude color goes with almost everything. I keep a Tokidoki nail file for my nails. It has a convenient plastic case so it doesn't rough up all the other packaging.
The non-makeup items include skin-care and other essentials. Bliss Body Butter in Lemon + Sage is one of my favorite mini lotions. It has such a wonderful texture and the scent is a nice pick-me-up. I keep Kate Spade Twirl rollerball in case I need a scent. It's nice and feminine, but not overstated so it's good for a number of occasions. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick* is a great multipurpose item (especially for a cocoa butter addict; this is my third stick!). I use it as both lip balm and moisturizer for dry skin. The solid form is light and great for travel too. I always keep Band-Aids on hand for shoe blisters and I've repurposed an old prescription bottle to hold some Advil. (I also love any excuse to use my label maker). Thanks for reading! What are some minis or basics you keep in your pouch? I'd love to get some fresh ideas!

Love, Dovey.

    1. Hi J! Thanks!! I have a huge Costco sized bottle that I can't carry around with me so I used a little med bottle! Yay for having the MUFE mini pencil too. I completely forgot about MUFE concealers. I need to try one again. I can imagine your gorgeous lip products :)

  2. Since I'm a contacts wearer, I also carry extra contacts and eye drops in my pouch. And a clear balm (Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, currently), but that's about it. I try not to carry too much with me!

    1. Hi Larie, The contact drops are a good idea. I should do that too for my contacts, though I always worry about the bottle becoming uncapped and leaking!

  3. That is SO cute. I love how the first pic has the minis peeping out. :D

I have in my bag: a B&BW hand sanitizer in White Citrus, atomizer filled with Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine-Basilic, hand cream, cream blush, powder compact, lip gloss, mini Nivea cream, floss, Advil/Tylenol/vitamins, blotting sheets... and an x-acto knife (because scissors are too big to carry around).

  4. Ooooh I love your makeup pouch! So cute!

In my pouch, I have lip balm, mascara, bandaids, mini lotion, a perfume sample I like, blotting sheets, and sometimes a lip color. This might just be me but I really like taking stuff out of the pouch and putting it back in neatly. And I do this multiple times a day...LOL! I feel so satisfied when it's organized.

    1. Hi Maggie, nothing wrong with an organized pouch! Mine is so stuffed full that I'm digging around most of the time. Organization would be helpful :)

  6. I love your makeup bag, Dovey--it's beautiful!

I used to be insane with the amount of makeup I carried in my makeup bag. I literally had every single item I used for my FOTD, plus different shades of each item just in case I suddenly wanted to change my look. I've since culled it down a lot--I carry a few lip balms still(Jack Black, Aquaphor, Maybelline Baby Lips, and Fresh Sugar Honey), perfume sample, blotting sheets ALWAYS, Visine, bobby pins, tweezers, a clean spoolie, mascara, blush, translucent powder, a big fluffy Sonia Kashuk brush, my trusty Bobbi Brown eyeshadow brush, eyeliner, and whatever eyeshadow I'm wearing.

    1. Thank you so much Becca! I LOVED reading the list of what you carry--- all the lip products especially sounds wonderful! I really should carry some more FOTD makeup with me; my makeup does melt a little at the end of the day and I should touch up!

  7. What I find really useful in my makeup bag is this Escents roll-on aromatherapy stick in Headache Relief. I use it for headaches, carsickness, and a stuffy nose. It has saved me too many times! Also I carry a pot of Burt's Bee's Res-Q Ointment. It's good for bug bites, small scratches and so on :)

  9. This is very practical! My make-up pouch is similar. I have a mini nail file, two rollerball perfumes, a travel size Diorshow mascara, a clear lip liner, lip balm, a mini TooFaced glamour gloss, hand cream and sanitizer, a mini Skin79 BB Cream, and my little pill box! I always include the lipstick/gloss of the day as well. I used to carry around a LOT more stuff, full size cosmetics, until I realized I never touch them.

  10. I always have to keep tweezers for a stray brow hair. I have a cute mini pair from the tweezerman collab with Harajuku Lovers :) Plus, a compact mirror.

    1. Hi Sarah, I loved that collaboration, I almost got one, but didn't since I already have minis (sigh). There are definitely times I've wanted for a tweezer after being surprised by my brows' status!

  11. You have a label maker. Sigh. I want a label maker. I'm an office product junkie.

I keep a mini bottle of hand lotion, pressed powder, travel kabuki brush, blotting linens, Clinique Chubby Mega Melon, and about five random lipsticks that I forget to take out when I wear something different.

    1. Hi Alison, I wanted one for a loooong time but finally got one! I def. love it! Hehe, the lipstick accumulation does happen to me too. And somehow I often find that I still don't have the right color!

  12. I envy your label maker.

    My make-up bag has:
    anti-histamines
    paracetamol
    cotton buds
    lip smackers
    Nars The Multiple, Luxor
    Nars pressed powder
A spare badge reel (as mine is always getting broken)
Hand cream (Palmers Vit E, shea butter)
and a few random vacutainers for balancing centrifuges.
