Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum review

When I think of Juicy Couture, pink velour tracksuits jump to my mind. It's this kind of playful opulence that I expected from Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum. The fragrance's intended notes include: watermelon, mandarin, pink passion fruit, marigold, green apple, water hyacinth, crushed leaves, tuberose absolute, wild rose, princess lily, Tuberose, caramel creme brulee, vanilla, precious woods, patchouli. It's a long list that seems to focus on fresh watery fruits, florals, and some sweet gourmands. However, at first sniff, I was taken aback. There was momentary confusion as I tried to single out different notes. Perhaps there was one too many and the scent ended up a as a muddled mix. Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum seems to be a bottom heavy scent. What is most evident is very sweet dessert like vanilla and creme brulee. I can hardly find any 'juicy' scents and there are no top notes that really sing.  The patchouli scent that I'm always on edge about is definitely there and there are hints of opulent flowers like rose and lily. The woods are light, but become more evident as the scent mellows out.

Overall, Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum is a muddled mix of rich, opulent, and delicious. The strong creme brulee notes in the perfume are decidedly younger, however the patchouli and florals add some complexity. It's not really my cup of tea. Part of it is because it's not the playful, flirtatious scent I had imagined Juicy Couture to be, and part of it is that I just don't find it to be the right balance for me. Thanks for reading! Have you tried Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum or any other scents from the Juicy line? What perfume samples have you been testing out lately?

Love, Dovey.

P.S. The bottle shown is a deluxe sized mini, not a full sized bottle. I have imposed a fragrance ban (read about that here) on myself until I review my entire deluxe mini collection on this blog!

  1. I've tried their Viva La Juicy scent, which I quite like. This sounds interesting but probably won't be my cup of tea either. I love EATING creme brulee, but I don't think I'd like to smell like it, haha!

  2. Hi Maggie :) I think I have a sample vial of Viva La Juicy somewhere. I should probably dig it out and take another sniff! I like dessert smells, however only if they're more pure ( and not mixed in with patchouli! )

  3. Wow, you're really powering through your samples! Go, Dovey, go!

I can't keep all the Juicy scents straight and lump them generally as being too sweet and young for me. But they don't repel me and I might even harbour a secret fondness for one of them - just can't remember for the life of me which one that might be.

    1. Hi Liz, Haha, you're right. I'm desperate to buy myself another perfume, so I'm getting things going :) After Juicy Couture, I didn't feel inclined to try the others, but I'll try again next time I make it to Sephora!
