Wedding nail polish colors

The big day is drawing closer and a key beauty decision involves choosing polish colors. I hadn't made a final decision yet, so I packed a selection to choose from (shown above). For my fingers, I'm going with a sheer pink. The ones I packed were OPI It's a Girl, OPI Isn't that Precious?, OPI Bubble Bath, and Butter London Pink Ribbon. The first two are cooler pinks, while the second two are more like ballet pinks. Right now OPI Bubble Bath is the front runner because I love the formula and it's a barely there color. For my toes, I want to choose a more colorful pedi that can transition into the honeymoon. The colors I brought for toes include OPI Kiss me on my tulips (reviewed here), Dior Bikini (reviewed here), Dior Riviera (reviewed here), and NARS Trouville (reviewed here). I had initially planned to use OPI Kiss me on my tulips, however I'm now leaning towards NARS Trouville. Both are beautiful, so it will be hard to decide!

The girls are treating me to a spa day before the wedding, and I decided to get a pedi done, but not a mani. I plan on doing my own nails because they're short and tend to grow fast. The nail gap becomes too obvious for my liking if I apply more than a day in advance. Since I'm using a sheer color, I'm confident that I can get it right. I packed the following items with me so I can make sure my manicure will pass muster: OPI Top Coat, Sephora by OPI Base Coat, Tweezerman mini manicure set, and Sephora nail buffer.

Hopefully all will go well! What nail colors did you wear (or are planning on wearing) on your big day?

Love, Dovey.

  3. awww congratulations, Dovey!
i am sure you'll be a beautiful and lovely bride.
i really like the OPI isn't that precious and NARS polish.
if your dress is ivory with some sort of champagne gold accents (i am just imagining here. lol) a pale nude without any pink undertone would be nice, too.

  4. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! You will be a beautiful bride! Wishing you much joy on your wedding & many years of happiness to come!

I know I had a bright blue red on my toes & either a very pale, sheer pink on my tips or possibly a french. In my defense, it was almost 15 years ago!!

  6. Congrats Dovey! So happy for you :)

I've never thought about what I might wear one day (in the far future, haha) but I think I'd definitely go with something subtle and neutral. I think OPI Bubble Bath is perfect!!

  11. So excited for you! I had french on toes and fingers for my wedding (natural nails, though, so it wasn't OTT, rather natural looking). Please do share a wedding photo so we can fawn over how gorgeous you look :D

  13. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I think you can't go wrong with OPI's Bubble Bath. I like Trouville for toes if you want something lighter, and Kiss Me on My Tulips for a more bold look. Hmmm I'm wondering what color your flowers will be? That might help with such a tough decision :) All of the shades you picked are such great choices! :)

  16. These are so lovely! AND I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE GETTING MARRIED, DOVEY!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! :DDD

(Pardon me - I thought you were already married because you speak of Mr. Lovey so fondly as if you had been together forever!)

Bikini and Riviera would be awesome on the toes. I hope the preparations are going well! <3

  17. Bubble bath will be elegant and feminine for the ceremony (or either of the other two pale pink OPI shades); I think Kiss Me On My Tulips would be marvelous for the pedi and transitioning into the honeymoon. Great taste! I love the NARS as well.

    Many congratulations to you!

  18. Congratulations to you and Mr Dovey!

Lovely shades, I'm a bridesmaid for my best friend in september- our gowns are a steel gray and I can't decide between a neutral pinky colour or my beloved Essie Power Clutch.

  19. Congratulations, Dovey! How exciting for you! I had sort of a traditional wedding, so I had a French manicure and I think pale pink similar to Essie Mademoiselle on my toes. Nothing too special. I think all the colors you have to choose from are fun and amazing! You can't go wrong with any of the colors:)

  21. Congratulations, Dovey, so excited!!! Will we see pictures? :D I'm sure your day will go beautifully, and you will be absolutely glowing :)

I'm thinking of colors for myself, but I'm probably going to go with something...black. My mother will probably not approve, but well, my wedding, you know? Not sure about toes, though!

  22. Dovey, I am so excited for you!! I love your selections.

I don't remember the brand or color names, but I wore a soft pink on my fingers and a brighter rose on my toes, maybe even a blue red.

I vote for Isn't that Precious for fingers an Kiss me on my Tulips for toes.

Oh, lord if I had only had the internet to help me obsess and plan what fun that would have been *oldtimer*

  23. I've never commented before, but your thinking is exactly along the same lines as mine! I'm getting married in August, and I'm thinking something subtle on the nails (I'm leaning toward Butter London's All Hail the Queen, but still trying to make up my mind) and bright on the toes. I still haven't decided on how I'm doing my veil or my shoes, though. Too many decisions!
