New! Victoria's Secret Love My Body review

I've got a new way to love my body: Victoria's Secret just unveiled Love My Body, a brand new line of body care products! Love My Body is a fresh and modern take on bodycare complete with simple chic packaging. The four scents are feminine, yet sheer so that one can have more flexibility with scent. One could wear them alone or layered with a favorite fine fragrance. In this sense, the Love My Body line fills a new niche in Victoria's Secret's popular bodycare lines that complements the sensual VS Fantasies line and the flirty PINK line of products. I've tried and tested the different products and fragrances from the brand new Victoria's Secret Love My Body line, so read on to learn more!

The new Love My Body line is carried in four different scents, each of which has its own mod color coordinated packaging: Grapefruit and Basil (Aqua), Orchid and Bamboo (Pink), Jasmine and Water Lily (Purple), and White Tea and Sage (Peach). Each scent was a fresh and feminine interpretation. Because the scents are lighter and not niche fragrances, I found each easy and pretty to wear. I've written some thoughts about each scent: Grapefruit and Basil is not your typical grapefruit scent. It lacks overt citrus tones and I feel like the basil shines through here. There's a smooth herb-y note without the bitterness of the leaf. It's rounded out with some wateriness from the fruit. Jasmine and Water Lily  is a sweet interpretation of a jasmine floral with some watery notes rounding out the base. It's the sweetest and most overtly feminine of the three scents I tried. Orchid + Bamboo is a light powdery floral that is slightly exotic due to the orchid. It has a mild tones of water from the imagined bamboo s talk. It's more delicate than the other scents, and my current favorite. I didn't have a chance to try White Tea + Sage, but I'm intrigued by the sound of a tea scent.

Each Love My Body scent is available in a body wash, body oil, body lotion, body cream, and body mist form. The Nearly Nude Body Wash ($12 for 6.7oz) is a creamy bodywash that lathers well. I like the packaging of this product the most; the vibrant aqua blue of my Grapefruit and Basil body wash looks so fun in my shower. There are three different moisturizing products. Indulge Me Body Oil ($12 for 3.4 oz) has the lightest moisturisation and is a fast absorbing dry oil. It contains a blend of Sunflower, Argan, Grapeseed, and Monoi oils (as well as a touch of silicones) that sink in quickly and give the skin a silky smooth feel. The Amazing All Over Body Lotion (15.2 oz for $15) is more of your workhorse everyday lotion that comes in a generous size. It sinks in quickly and leaves the skin fragrant. The pump bottle is convenient too. The Seriously Soft Body Cream ($15 for 6.7 oz) is the richest of the moisturizers. The texture in the tub is firmer and not as oily as some body butters. It spreads and smooths easily and isn't heavy for a body cream. The Can't Resist Body Mist ($8.4 oz for #12) is a way to layer on a little extra fragrance on top of the other products. It's infused with some jojoba and glycerin to add a little refresher to skin.

Overall,  I found the new Victoria's Secret Love My Body Line accomplishes its concept of being a light, fresh, and feminine bath and body line. It fills a niche for women who want a fragrant body care experience, but don't want to be overwhelmed by a scent's power or complexity. Love My Body scents are light and have the flexibility exist as a subtle base smell or to be paired with a favorite personal fragrance. I could certainly see this becoming one of Victoria's Secret's more popular body care lines due to its broad appeal. Thanks for reading! Have you seen the new Love My Body line in stores yet? Did you have a favorite VS bodycare scent? Do you layer different fragrances on top of scented lotions?

Love, Dovey.

  1. Ok, Jasmine and Water Lily and White Tea and Sage seriously sound amazing. I haven't been to Victoria's Secret in FOREVER, and I've NEVER tried any of their cosmetics so I really need to check it out. I read a lot of good reviews for all their beauty products
