LUSH Sun Eau de Cologne Gorilla Perfume review

LUSH recently launched a brand new selection of Gorilla perfumes inspired by art, music, memories, people, and stories. These perfumes take inspiration from real experiences, as opposed to industry ideals. There are a myriad of original scents, in all shapes, sizes, and smells. Recently, I've been delighting in LUSH Sun Eau de Cologne thanks to the folks at LUSH, and have a sunny review to share with you today!

LUSH Sun is a deliciously optimistic scent. The idea for it was born when in-house perfumer Mark Constantine dreamed of a bright yellow sun on a lollipop stick (hence the imagery on the packaging!) It's a cheery scent that's meant to remind us of warmer climates and happy memories. (In Mark's case, it reminds him of driving down the New Jersey turnpike to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel).

Notes: Tangerine, Orange, Mimosa, Sandalwood
LUSH Sun smells of sweet orange combined with a deep sandalwood. It opens with a very juicy tangerine, which quickly transitions into a sweet, almost candied, orange. The sandalwood is immediately noticeable, as if it's the board against which the orange is being cut. It's not a shy sandalwood; the wood has nice depth and some of the earthy darkness of real wood. The combination of citrus and sandalwood wears for quite some time. The components sound deceptively simple, however the summation leads to a pretty cool scent effect!

LUSH Sun Eau de Cologne ($14.95 for 0.3 oz) certainly does channel the effect of a sunny orange lollipop on a stick. If you're a citrus fragrance lover (man or woman) I definitely recommend a sniff; the citrus and sandalwood combine for a novel and delicious scent experience. Thanks for reading! Have you tried LUSH Gorilla perfumes? Do you like citrus scents?

Love, Dovey.

  1. I wear LUSH Gorilla perfume in 1000 Kisses, as I couldn't resist a fragrance named after a Leonard Cohen song. I'll have to try LUSH Gorilla perfume in Voice of Reason because it was also inspired by Leonard Cohen.
