I simply can't resist spring collections! The delicate optimism of pretty pinks and peaches never fails to delight. I find CHANEL Spring in particular to be perennially lovely; in fact, my very first CHANEL purchase was a Spring-series lipstick!
As you might imagine, I spent quite some time poring over the CHANEL Notes de Printemps (Spring 2014) collection. It was hard to choose just a single shade from the bunch! Ultimately I decided upon CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Color in Dédicace, a cool rosy pink. I tend to prefer pinks over corals and light-to-medium shades over full-force color. (And yes, I am a creature of habit).
Compared to the other lipsticks available in CHANEL Notes de Printemps, CHANEL Dédicace hasn't received much attention on the blogosphere. It was challenging for me to gauge the color before purchase (though that didn't stop me from jumping to buy it!) Hopefully my swatches below will give you a better idea of what to expect.
CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Color in Dédicace is a medium rosy pink. The color has a definite cool character when worn (more so on the lips than in my swatch), though not in the sense of cool bubble-gum pink! I've compared it to a few pinks in my collection below. As you can see it's more of a red pink than Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake and Too Faced Lip Color in Razzle Dazzle Rose, both of which are cool pinks. CHANEL Rouge Coco in Dèdicace swatch is much more intense in color and shade than Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Pale Mauve and CHANEL Rouge Allure in Radieuse.
CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Color in Dédicace is a spring pink that makes my heart sing! Recently, I've been looking to build up my medium pink collection (I tend to favor lights, as you may know), so this is a beautiful starter! In addition to being a stellar spring pink, the formula on this particular Rouge Coco is quite comfortable and non-drying, even in the current wintry climate. Overall, the shade is a wonderful addition to my lip wardrobe!
Thanks for reading! What are your favorite shades from CHANEL Notes de Printemps? What are your favorite shades of CHANEL Rouge Coco? What pinks have you been loving lately?
Love, Dovey.
Hey Dovey, you're right about this one being neglected! I'm not sure why, either, because the swatch looks really really pretty! I have the corals from this collection and I love them! I mean, I do like pinks, too, but most of the time, corals remain my top priority ;)
ReplyDeleteI was going to pass on Chanel's spring collection.. but your swatch of Dédicace has me reconsidering my decision :)
ReplyDeleteThis pink has a good amount of blush! Love that it stays in the cool realm but still looks lively.
ReplyDeleteI would be most comfortable wearing pink like Revlon Strawberry Shortcake or Chanel Radieuse but lately I've been leaning towards something little deeper. :)
I just assumed this would be a too cool, too bright pink so didn't pay it attention, it looks lovely in your swatch though, ugh I wish I had got this instead of Triomphe as it sounds like its one of the better RC formulas.

ALL of those swatches are absolutely beautiful shades! I don't think I have anything like this color in my collection, which is strange - how can someone have so much lipstick but still miss something like this? Haha :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty pink and perfect for spring! :) At first I had passed on all of the lipsticks in this collection, but just yesterday I purchased Melodieuse, which is a super-vibrant, deep coral that is way out of my norm, but I was inspired by Lisa Eldridge's recent tutorial on bright lips (she used orange) and thought I'd try out something new!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely pink! I've only dabbled in Rouge Coco Shines. This looks like a great one to try out for a 'real' Chanel lipstick. : )
ReplyDeleteoh oh oh i love this color! will have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the color on its own as a swatch but I personally stay far far away from pale pinks, I find it difficult to carry off cool tone baby pinks! It's so pretty though, I love how the packaging is so classic.
