NARS multiples magnified #AllureBBA

My NARS multiples: practically melting in the sunlight
We were allowed three photographs for the Allure Beauty Blogger Awards product review challenge. I really wanted to get it right and showcase simple, effortless photographs with a strong sense of colorful minimalism. To get said 'effortless' look, I pored over five hundred photographs before settling on these three. Ultimately, the pictures ended up being quite miniature, so I've posted magnified versions of the same photos in this post, plus a couple supplementary thoughts.

I had to chill these in the fridge before continuing my photographs
The NARS Multiples show in my Allure 'favorite product' challenge post were Orgasm, South Beach, Luxor,  and Copacabana. I highly recommend checking out the post if you're curious about multiples; I wrote a comprehensive description of the NARS Multiple's history, controversy, and how to use it. If you've been following the blog, you might now that I'm going through a romance with the NARS South Beach Multiple lately. I'll try to review my South Beach and Orgasm multiples in the near future. I've already reviewed my NARS Luxor multiple (here) and NARS Copacabana multiple (here).

I have some Multiple gossip to share too. There is going to be a new NARS multiple in the NARS Fall 2012 lineup called Undress Me. You can see it here, in French Vogue at the Thakoon show. I'm adding it to my want list, in addition to Maldives!

Thanks for reading! What are your favorite multiples? Where do you fall on the love/hate Multiple debate? Are you looking forward to 'Undress Me' or is it way too early to think about Fall 2012?

Love, Dovey.

  1. I like your multiples! personally, I don't have anything against them, I think when you are scared of some sparkles you just won't like them. I don't mind them and think, they are perfect for day or a night out. I also don't think, that some tiny shimmers will make you look dated or anything. used with a light hand they look great. I have orgasm and copacabana. I think my next purchase will be luxor, maui or a bronze one (malibu maybe?). I think it's always nice to see what's for fall actually, I don't think it's to early ... it would be, when it would be released now, haha. :)

    1. Hi Claire--- I think you are right; they are a bit shiny, esp when applied heavily. I think my face can use some shine, so they work for me. I barely have my summer items, but I am curious about fall too!

    2. I feel the same: my skin is very dry and I like a bit of shine/highlight on my face. I don't mind the tiny shimmers. also, I don't have any problems with the staying power due to my sahara skin ... that's one of the advantages I like about having dry skin, lol.

  2. Ok I officially feel deprived - I NEED to get my hands on one of these NARS multiples! I'm completely torn between Orgasm and South Beach though, I guess I'll just have to get both! :P

  4. Your photos are lovely! I really want to get my hands on the Orgasm and Luxor multiples now.. haha. I tried G-Spot a while ago, but it didn't work out for me... I'm open to trying out more though.

    1. Thank you C! I didn't get G-spot because the color was a bit deep for me. I'm hoping the upcoming one will be a lighter color!

  5. I love your photos maybe even more than Multiples themselves as I seem to have a love/hate relationship with them. I can't use these on other areas of my face but my cheekbones. They don't look very flattering on my lips and on my eyes, it barely shows. But yet, I still can't help but buy them. I only have South Beach, G-Spot and a small travel sized Copacabana. I'm sure I'll play with the new one when it arrives on the NARS counters.

  6. Ooooooh, the new Multiple looks lovely and the nails are fab too, Nars and Thakoon how much do I love you.

Love my carefully selected multiples, Maui and South Beach. Space NK website says they have the Beverly Hills which I want too.

  8. I've never tried the multiples before, but I bet they're just so versatile in any woman's makeup collection :D

  9. I have yet to try a multiple (but the want is totally there!). I'm a bit worried about a cream product on my face since I have oily skin, but it may be worth it. South Beach is a gorgeous color and would definitely be my first choice. You chose some great pictures!

  10. Good luck, Dovey! I hope you win. :)

I knew you were a NARS fan but didn't know about the Multiples! I have Maui and it was my fave blush for the longest time. The emollient texture is a dream and the shade is a MCBB. I should pull it out and enjoy it again. Thanks for the reminder!
